What this scheme funds
This Lombardy regional programme funds building renovation projects that convert unused public or private properties into social housing units for permanent rental. Grants cover restoration, refurbishment or conservation works, and rents on the resulting apartments must be below market rate, aimed at people who struggle to access private housing but don't qualify for public housing. Grants range from €200,000 to €2,000,000 per project, calculated per square metre and scaled by how long the property stays committed to social housing use.
