What this scheme funds
This Sicilian regional scheme gives companies a cash grant of €30,000 for each employee they hire on a permanent contract (or convert from fixed-term to permanent) who works mainly remotely from Sicily for at least five years. The goal is to keep skilled workers living in Sicily by making remote 'south working' arrangements financially attractive for employers. It is a non-repayable grant covering personnel costs, not a loan or equity investment.
