What this scheme funds
This is a regional tax break in Sicily that exempts eligible non-profit and third-sector organisations from IRAP (a regional business tax). It applies to volunteer organisations, social promotion associations, former ONLUS entities and bodies registered in the national third-sector register (RUNTS), including social cooperatives. The exemption is granted as 'de minimis' state aid rather than as a cash grant.
